The most anticipated event on the NUI calendar is finally here, and NUI is delighted to hold the annual Awards Ceremony of 2022. NUI has granted a value of €1 million to its NUI students, graduates, staff, and member institutions across the NUI federation. This year, the Ceremony will be held virtually which enables NUI to reach its global community.
The NUI Awards Ceremony is an opportunity to publicly recognise exceptional achievements of our students across all academic disciplines and at all academic stages.

NUI Art and Design Gallery Launch
In accordance with this aim, NUI is delighted to open the NUI Art and Design gallery to showcase graduates' various artistic talents. There is a strong emphasis on challenging social and cultural narratives that are created in these pieces, exploring innovative art techniques, and challenging viewers into deep philosophical reflection. Here you can see all the projects displayed.
One of the artists showcased in the NUI Art and Design Gallery is Jennifer Kelly, the recipient of the 2022 award for her 'Colligo' photograph collection (above image).

Researchers from NUI institutions
among top-cited in the world
The analytics company Clarivate recently published its annual list of highly cited researchers who “have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade.” These designations came from papers that ranked in the top 1% by citations in the Web of Science citation index by field in 2022.
National University of Ireland was delighted to learn that 39 of these researchers were from Irish institutions, 25 of which were from institutes associated with the National University of Ireland.

For the fifth year running, the National University of Ireland and Dublin City Council are pleased to collaborate and contribute a Viking-studies event to the Dublin Festival of History Programme.
This year, we are honoured to host a lecture by Dr Edel Bhreathnach, who will present her latest research on religion and beliefs in Viking-age Dublin.
