RCSI Conferring Ceremony

25.11.2014

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) recently held four conferring ceremonies in both the Convention Centre in Dublin and in their own premises in St. Stephen’s Green where almost 1,000 students in medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing and a range of healthcare areas were conferred with NUI degrees and other qualifications.

Speaking at each of the conferring ceremonies the Chancellor congratulated each cohort of graduates on their success and achievements. He remarked that the recent success of the Rosetta space mission reflects “the extraordinary collective potential that can arise from the combination of individual talents”. This, he explained, is particularly important within the health professions - a distinctly interdisciplinary environment - where teamwork, co-operation and collaboration are a fundamental part of the working culture.

Dr. Manning went on to say that the University applauds the tremendous potential NUI and RCSI graduates have to offer in the development and shaping of ideas and innovations that will make a positive and lasting impact on our society.
