The election of the Chancellor of the National University of Ireland, to succeed Dr Maurice Manning in 2024, will take place at a meeting of Convocation to be held in the National University of Ireland, 49 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, on 17th October 2024 at 10 a.m. The poll will remain open for one hour.

The election and all related procedures are carried out in accordance with Statute LXXXVI, Chapter Vl, Statute CII, Chapter l and Statute CCXXVlll, Chapter ll of the University Statutes.

The following is a list of the names of the persons who have been duly nominated:

APPLYING FOR A VOTING PAPER

Members of Convocation who wish to vote in the Convocation Election must apply to the Clerk of Convocation for voting papers no later than Wednesday 9th October 2024.

Returned Ballot papers should be received in NUI before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday 17th October 2024.

Applications may also be made by post to the address below, or by email to elections@nui.ie.

Applications for voting papers – by post, or email (elections@nui.ie) – should contain the following information:

• Surname and forename(s) in full
• Other name, if any (e.g. married, single, Irish)
• Date of birth
• Address and telephone number / email address

and

• NUI Degree(s) and year(s) of conferring(s) and NUI College(s) attended

or

• Institution, faculty and department in which the applicant is a Lecturer or Professor if the vote is being claimed on that basis

Envelopes containing completed ballot papers should be:

• returned by post to the Clerk of Convocation, 49 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, or
• lodged in the Ballot Boxes located in the Registrar’s Office, NUI, 49 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, to be received on or before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday 17th October 2024, or
• lodged in the Ballot Boxes located in the Registrars’ Offices in the Constituent Universities and Recognised Colleges to be received by 16:00 on Friday 11th October 2024
