Paul O’Donovan
Paul strongly believes in higher education as a public good and in its transformative power for individuals and society. As a member of Senate (2017-2022) he took part in strategy development and IT modernisation projects in addition to committee work, the advancement of academic standards and scholarship, and the promotion of the NUI.
A native of Co. Cork, he spent several decades in Wales working and consulting for a variety of private- and public-sector organisations including the European Commission, UN Food & Agriculture Organisation, Welsh Development Agency, and the Welsh Government. He has been Academic Secretary in UCC since 2012.
