Sarah Kelleher , a graduate of University College Cork, was awarded the NUI Prize in Education 2020.

Sarah Kelleher is a post-primary German and Business teacher. She studied International Commerce with German at University College Cork before completing the Professional Master of Education. She was awarded the School of Education Prize as the Top UCC Professional Master of Education Student for 2020, having successfully attained the highest overall mark on the programme.

As part of the BComm International programme she studied at the University of Regensburg in Germany for one year where she studied commercial and linguistic modules through German. This immersive linguistic and cultural experience further ignited her interest in pedagogy, given the inherently communicative pedagogical styles endorsed at the University of Regensburg, leading her to the Professional Master of Education at UCC.

As part of the Professional Master of Education she carried out research focusing primarily on the symbiotic presentation of language and culture as a means to scaffold the overarching second language acquisition process. She is now teaching full-time at Coláiste/Gaelcholáiste Choilm, Ballincollig, where she strives to impart her passion for teaching and learning.
